Much has been done on women in gaming over the last few years, usually loud and with an amazing amount of vitriol. As the diversity of the gaming market continues to grow and more people taking an interest in the medium, the call for more women who are more than dolls glazed or extension of the main male characters (you know, like a real woman) has become more intense.
Some developers struggling to pull it off, some insist curves and personalities that are too difficult to do all at once, and some are too busy fiddling with their physics engine jiggle to see. But others have made serious steps in creating a woman believed that every bit as heroic and inspiring as male counterparts them, and just as we pay tribute to Master Chief and Gordon Freeman to inspire us to be outstanding, these women worthy to be celebrated as well.
